This class has been defined and incorporated into CDNO release 3.0. The development of this class included discussion as an 'issue' on GitHub.
Nutritional Functional Attribute is defined as A functional attribute that inheres in one or more dietary nutritional component (or food material) and may contribute to a dietary role.
This is one of the proposed classes where ‘functional attribute’ is initially sensu TXPO:0000825 (A physical attribute inhering in a bearer by virtue of the bearer's function). This is distinct from the proposed class of ‘physical attribute’ that would refer to properties existing independent of function. However, the definition may need to be extended to include (chemical or other) quantifiable functional attributes/properties such as ‘anti-oxidant’ or ‘chelator’.
